"Throughout, the author shows deep compassion for his subjects, offering a passionate plea for reconsidering humanity’s relationship with nature and itself.” – BlueInk Revie

Douglas Barnard Schaper has a BA in History from Tufts University and a finance degree from NYU Stern School of Business, he has applied himself across a wide range of disciplines. He has been an assistant archaeologist for the Smithsonian. He’s also worked as a broker and even a sous chef at some point.

These multiple careers have sent him traveling across five continents, adding more to his experiences during his spare time. Out of his many interests, however, writing and photography have recently taken center stage when he published his own book, “All The Love: Kel al-Hab.”

“All The Love: Kel al-Hab” compiles photographs that have given him the most to reflect on with regard to the state of the world. Reviews of his book have already come in, praising its distinct combination of essays and choice pictures.

Foreword Reviews describes the prose as “… quite poetic and defies conventions, as where it capitalizes its important concepts. Meditations on faith mix with descriptions of natural encounters, such as with a mongoose family, and with suggestions for restructuring the electrical grid. And love for the other is defined as acting from a place of care for all, contrasted with sharp insights into the political climate in the US.”

Others, like Kirkus Reviews, have found the photographs noteworthy, stating that they “clearly highlight the human longing for beauty, as represented in images of Ancient Egyptian ruins and other architectural wonders.”

As a recently published work, much of the book’s content is also fresh with perspectives on recent events and it is likely that Douglas Barnard Schaper will have more to share in the coming year. For readers who would like to see “All The Love: Kel al-Hab” for themselves, they can already order a copy on either Barnes & Noble or Amazon.
